   FRONT OFFICE

   The air-conditioned Front Office laboratory is specifically designed to replicate an actual lobby of a 5 star hotel.

In the Front Office laboratory, practicals are held, wherein the students are trained to take Guest check-ins, check-outs and face various mock–situations put forth by the trained lecturers (as in practical cases), thereby training them to suitably deal with all kinds of guest requests.

HOUSEKEEPING

   The air-conditioned House Keeping Laboratory consists of a guest room with well- designed interiors. The Mock - House Keeping Laboratory and the Laundry equipped with washing machines, dryer, and a wash area enable students to get the right feel of the department. It reflects a standard housekeeping department in a 5 star hotel. More over, it also looks after the Inhouse laundry & the general maintenance & cleaning of the college. An additional, state-of-the-art modern housekeeping laboratory is in an advanced stage of construction. This lab, with the latest washing machines, dryers etc., is being set up in the new building in the campus adjacent to the existing building.

   RESTAURANT

   The Air-conditioned “Saleequa” - Training Restaurant helps to enhance style serving techniques. It operates 40 covers and also has a Training Bar to facilitate practical experience to the students. It is well equipped with silverware, glassware, tableware, gueridon trolley and other sophisticated equipment required for quality service. It operates daily during lunch hours with a theme created by the students who function as Managers, Commis, Pantry-In-Charge, Hosts / Hostesses, etc. on a rota basis. It is also a venue for small Conferences, Luncheons, Dinner meetings, Presentations and Interviews all of which are managed by the students. To cater to the increasing demand of restaurant service and to help more students acquire practical experience, we are setting up a second restaurant fully armed with sophisticated equipment necessary for quality service.

The new restaurant has an area of 800 sq. feet & it will cater to 40 covers. It also has a training bar. It is likely to become operational in the next academic year.

   BASIC TRAINING KITCHEN

   The first year students are introduced to the world of culinary art in the basic training kitchen. They get familiar with the various kitchen equipment and are shown the intricate cutting methods to begin with. They then learn basic Regional, National & International cuisines.

   QUANTITY TRAINING KITCHEN

   The Quantity Training Kitchen is mainly the training ground for the 2nd year students who develop into making various Regional and National Delicacies along with a few International Cuisines.They cater to an average of 500 students on a daily basis. Heavy-duty equipment facilitates bulk cooking including a tandoor to enable barbecue menu items.

   ADVANCED TRAINING KITCHEN

   Here the 3rd year students prepare different International Cuisines. It is mainly for Speciality cooking. 20 well-equipped workstations with modern culinary equipment further facilitate every student to practice individually. An additional ATK with the most modern culinary equipment is under construction & is expected to become operational in the near future.

   LE PATTISSERIE

   This is an outlet to help and develop the students in their skill in making confectionery, which supplements any meal to raise its value. To keep pace with the increasing number of students, we have set up an additional bakery - cum - pattisserie to enable the students to develop their skills in making confectionery.

   LEARNING RESOURCE CENTRE

   Anjuman-I-Islam's A. K. Hafizka C.H.T.M.S.R. has one of the best libraries amongst the Hotel Management Institutes in India which provides up to date information about the Hospitality and Food Service Industry. It has over 4000 books in varied hospitality related subjects covering from Regional, National and International Cuisines, Beverages, Bakery, Catering to Management related and Value Development books thus making Anjuman-I-Islam's A. K. Hafizka C.H.T.M.S.R. a Knowledge Hub. Audio Visual Aids significantly enhance the library resources with a collection of more than 400 CD ROMS and Video cassettes.

The library subcribes to numerous periodicals (both National and International), Journals on the Hospitality Industry, and all major newspapers. More than 500 Research reports further build up the library database. Moreover, membership to the British Council Library and American Information Resource Centre adds to the students resource for further research. The LRC is completely automated & provides online services to the staff & students.

LINGUAPHONE

   The Linguaphone is an Audio medium of learning provided by a UK company. It facilitates learning of the English language from the ones the language originally belonged to. It thus aids self-learning of effective and polished communication, and strives on the concept of listen - learn and repeat, thus correcting all the grammatical and pronunciation mistakes made by the students. The use of this facility has been encouraged & enhanced by conducting regular Linguaphone classes.

 
 
COMPUTER LABORATORY

   Equipped with latest Pentium IV based 30 workstations that are connected to the Windows 2000 Server with Local Area Network. It is supported by a Gegabyte Cable Network and the Speed ranges upto 1 GBPS. Anjuman-I-Islam's A. K. Hafizka C.H.T.M.S.R. teaches the students the Generic Software and the Hotel Management Software which is used at most of the hotels for reservation.

The Shawman Package covers the point of sale and property management system. The students have access to this hi-tech facility complemented by twenty-four hour broadband internet connectivity. The installed FIDELIO, gives the students a feel of the PMS package used in 5 Star Hotels. Our college marches ahead in full swing in its endeavour to achieve techno excellence. We have set up the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This system will facilitate a paper-less regime & enhance better utilisation of learning resources, monitoring of the curriculum & student’s attendance, internal communication etc. It is abundantly evident from the above that we are firmly en-route to rapid expansion - technologically, territorially & educationally.

AUDITORIUM

   We are proud to state that we have built an elegant state-of-the-Art auditorium with latest hi-tech gadgets & equipment. It has capacity to seat more than 100 people.

We are the only college in Mumbai which has the LCD, lights & music systems, fully controlled by a wireless touch screen panel.

We regularly conduct seminars, workshops, events, presentations & display education videos in the auditorium.
