Onam Festival

Ganesh Festival
Anjuman-I-Islam’s I.H.M.C.T. believes in providing ‘holistic education’ which develops the all round personality of the students by achieving proficiency in academics and extra curricular activities.

The students start the year with the Freshers’ Party where the senior students welcome the new comers into the College. This event is followed by celebration of most of the Indian festivals like Onam, Parsi New Year, Baisakhi, Ramzan Id, Ganesh Chaturthi, Christmas, and New Year. All of these events are well presented with the complementary religion cuisines and cultural events. They truly showcase and build the skills and talents of the students.

The study tour is a regular annual event in the curriculum of our college. It is like a breather for our students from their heavy routine schedule.

Some of our recent past study tours were at Aurangabad, Hyderabad, Nainital, Shimla, Kerala and the students are looking forward to go to Goa in the coming year.

A major attraction of the Institute is its Annual Theme Dinner Programme organized mainly by the students. Herein the students conceptualize a thought provoking theme related to the tourism industry, research on the same and finally put forth ways to execute it.

This is done on a very large scale where they cater to the dignitaries from the Hospitality Industry, Tourism Promoters, Members of Government and Education Board. The Students make their committees, which replicate a hierarchy of any 5 star Hotel.

It consists of the General Manager and the Heads of the various Departments as F&B Service, Food Production, House Keeping, Stage & Décor, Sales & Marketing, Publicity & Promotion, Editorial and Cultural. They thus put into practice their skills learnt from the Institute and Industry.

This is further evidenced by its remarkable success in the various Management and Cultural Competitions at both college and intercollegiate levels.

INTERNATIONAL CHEFS TRAINING OUR STUDENTS
The often heard saying “Learn not the tricks of the trade itself”.
This is slightly improvised upon by the Anjumanites as, “Learn both the trade and the tricks of the trade, from the trade – masters alone”.
Foreign chefs are invited all through the year to train our students on the international cuisines and latest developments there on.

SOUVENIRS ON SALVER
In order to further equip the students to meet the expectations of the hotels abroad, Anjuman-I-Islam’s I.H.M.C.T. hosted series of International Culinary Weeks named as ‘Souvenirs of Salver’ showcasing the cuisines of the world. Herein the chefs from abroad were invited to demonstrate the cuisines of their respective countries.

This bold expansion from the national to international education called for a celebration held at The Regal Room, Hilton Towers. We inaugurated ‘Souvenirs on Salver’ with the Japanese Chef Reiko Hara, Lecturer, Thames Valley University, United Kingdom who shared culinary insights into Japanese preparations of Sushi, Teriyaki Chicken, Salads, Plate and Bento Box preparations, with the staff & students.

The ‘Souvenirs on Salver’ was a very well appreciated by guests which comprised the cream of the Hotel Industry. Other world cuisines such as Korean, Thai French Scottish will follow soon.
